Singularity refers to the hypothetical future emergence of greater-than human intelligence. Since the capabilities of such an intelligence would be difficult for an unaided human mind to comprehend, the occurrence of technological singularity is seen as an intellectual event horizon, beyond which the future becomes difficult to understand or predict.
奇异点 作为人类前进的转折点，认为在不远的未来，技术發展会在很短的时间内激增接近于无限进步。当它来临的时候，旧的社会模式将一去不复返，新的规则开始主宰这个世界。而后人类时代的智能和技术我们根本无法理解，就像金鱼无法理解人类的文明一样。
